LIMITING BELIEFS
Limiting Beliefs
The negative voice between our ears has a long-standing residency and is exceptional at pointing out restrictions about self-identity, abilities, desires, and our overall world view.
This voice is active even when the information and or beliefs are NOT true, real or yours. Often such ideas are projected from the outside world such as family, childhood experiences, schooling, teachers, friends and work environments.
Over time, this noise, commonly referred to as limiting beliefs, gets louder and louder to the point where limiting beliefs interfere with living a fulfilled life. This state of mind or conviction eventually filtrates into all aspects of life. It is a debilitating, soul crushing, and paralyzing experience and can prevent an individual from achieving goals, opening themselves up to new opportunities, breaking up from bad patterns, people and choices. You might be asking yourself, well how does one free themselves from limiting beliefs or reset themselves to new possibilities?
The good news is our mind is a muscle and also very powerful and works like an engine. It will consume the information it is fed.
This exercise helps ease anxiety, pain, as well as limiting beliefs. It triggers the subconscious to create a positive shift in interactions, personal awareness and love (from the inside out).
Actionable journaling is different than jotting thoughts in our diary. This technique gifts the opportunity to express and then intentionally reprogramming the narrative.
My wish is you give it a try.
Set some quiet alone time somewhere from 30-45 minutes.
Grab your journal and something to write with.
Write your name, date, and title the page.
Write out the concern, feeling, or situation you wish to work on.
Stay focused on one issue per exercise.
Write for 5 minutes without stopping (don’t worry about spelling, punctuation, or grammar) write your heart out.
When the timer goes off, read back what you wrote.
Experience the emotions, don’t hold back.
When you are ready, set the timer for 5 minutes.
This time write down the best possible outcome for the concern, feeling or situation.
Be very specific in the steps you need to take.
Experience the sensations as these concerns, feelings, or situations get resolved.
Now close your eyes, take a deep inhale.
Hold for four seconds, exhale for six seconds, repeat the breathing sequence for 5 rounds.
Envision the situation resolving itself as if a movie is playing right in front of you.
Let go of the concern, feeling, or situation, trust the Universe to work in tandem with you.
Stay here for as long as you need to.
When you are ready, place your hands over your eyes, keeping the eyes closed.
Slowly open your eyes inside your hands and begin to move your palms away from your eyes slowly.
Observe how you feel, journal what came up for you as you feel complete and grounded.
